- Will I be able to do this if I am uncoordinated?
Yes.
Many people feel this way and shy away from exercise because they feel self conscious about their abilities and feel a lack of coordination will limit them or make them look foolish.
But, you don't have to be coordinated to find a style suitable to you. A weight class or machines or a personal trainer or a yoga class can be a beginning. Or just start with walking. Find a partner to walk or work out with.
There are so many kinds of fun places and new ways to start that anyone can find a comfortable class, trainer or style to let their body open up with joy.
- Can I really lose weight ?
Yes. You really can lose weight. You must make the decision. You must take the action. It is up to YOU. Now, just move your body toward the achievement of that goal.
- Should I see my doctor before I begin?
Yes. It is always a good idea to check with your doctor before you begin any plan to exercise.
- Is exercise the only way to lose weight?
No. You can lose weight just by dieting. However, I believe that an approprate diet coupled with exercise (even minimum amounts of exercise per week) will maximize all of your efforts and make you much happier with your results. Adding exercise will reduce the " fabby all over " look. You will increase muscle tone, flexibility, stamina, balance, cardiovascular health and the overall luster of a body that "works out" and looks great no matter what the age.
